To provide a museum to advance the education of the public in north Warwickshire and the surrounding area and to foster and encourage the conservation and better understanding of the material heritage and the environment for the public benefit. To further or benefit the residents of north Warwickshire and the surrounding area, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by association together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents. In furtherance of these objects but not otherwise, the trustees shall have the power: to establish or secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain or manage or co-operate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the charity in furtherance of the above objects.
North Warwickshire Museum is a privately owned organisation – i.e. not run by any Local Authority bodies!
It was formed in 2025 as a registered charity and serves the whole community of North Warwickshire.

Governing Document
1.0 Introduction
The name of the charity is ‘North Warwickshire Museum and Community Hub’
2.0 Objects
The objects of the Charity are:
- To promote education and interest in the history, heritage and culture of North Warwickshire, its towns and villages.
- To acquire, preserve, archive and display artifacts, collections, and exhibits of educational, artistic, cultural, or historical value.
- To provide access to the museum’s collections and programs for the benefit of the public.
3.0 Powers
In furtherance of the objects, but not otherwise, the Charity may exercise the following powers:
- To raise funds and invite and receive contributions provided that, in raising funds, the Charity shall not undertake any substantial permanent trading activity and shall conform to any relevant requirements of the law.
- To purchase, lease, or otherwise acquire property and to maintain and equip it for use.
- To employ and manage staff necessary for carrying out the objects, including solicitors, accountants, and other professionals.
- To cooperate with other charities, voluntary bodies, and statutory authorities operating in furtherance of the objects or similar charitable purposes.
- To establish and maintain advisory committees to support the Charity’s activities.
- The Charity shall be managed by a Board of Trustees, which shall consist of at least four and not more than twelve trustees.
- Trustees shall be appointed for a term of three years and may be reappointed for successive terms.
- The trustees shall meet at least quarterly to discuss and oversee the Charity’s activities.
- An Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Charity shall be held each year.
- The quorum for meetings of the trustees shall be four.
- Decisions at meetings shall be taken by a simple majority vote.
6.0 Financial Management
- The trustees shall ensure that proper accounting records are kept and that annual accounts are prepared and audited.
- The financial year of the Charity shall end on [date].
- All funds shall be applied solely for the purposes of the Charity and in accordance with the objects.
7.0 Amendments
- The governing document may be amended by a resolution passed by a two-thirds majority of the trustees present and voting at a meeting, provided that notice of the proposed amendments has been given to all trustees.
- No amendment may be made that would affect the Charity’s charitable status.
5.0 Meetings
In the event of the dissolution of the Charity, any remaining assets shall be transferred to one or more charitable institutions with similar objects, as determined by the trustees.
